Have you ever read the comments people leave on Yahoo! Cricket using the “Fan Shout” feature?
Most of them are sleazy and some are downright disgusting, especially when a virtual match between India (fans) and Pakistan (fans) is on. Thanks to the unique slang/lingo people here in India use, restricting offensive content using filters would almost be an impossible task for any website.
If you use the Opera Web Browser, there’s a way to get around those stupid comments and freely browse, what is otherwise, an excellent place to follow cricket on the web.
If you haven’t setup Opera to use User JavaScript already −
- Create a folder on your local drive that would contain all User JavaScript files (e.g. C:\Users\XYZ\Settings\OperaJS)
- Open that folder. Copy the file provided below into the folder
- Run Opera
- Tools » Preferences » Advanced » Content » JavaScript Options » User JavaScript folder. Point to the folder created in the above steps.
- Goto Yahoo! Cricket to verify if that works
Download YahooCricketFanShoutOff1.js
(Right-click » Save)
